GMR 2.1 Expertise for the 100 MW  Concentrated Solar Plant, Engie, Kathu Solar Park

From November 2019 to August 2021, Kurumeng provided essential GMR 2.1 legal expertise to Engie, Kathu Solar Park for their 100 MW Concentrated Solar Plant (CSP) in Kathu, Northern Cape. Our focus was to ensure strict compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and Regulations for the facility. Kurumeng upheld safe operations through rigorous hands-on methods, including physical equipment checks, statutory compliance reviews, oversight of shutdown activities, and reviews of historical logs in the Maximo CMMS. This successful 22-month partnership strengthened Kurumeng’s business case for offering Prescriptive RCM and Maintenance Priority Index (MPI) solutions. We are prepared to leverage Industry 5.0 capabilities for efficient inspections through advanced data collection, actionable risk management, and cost-effective compliance for our clients.

Building Condition Assessment for Mafikeng Hotel School, North West Tourism Board

Kurumeng conducted a Building Condition Assessment (BCA) at the Mafikeng Hotel School in 2021, using a proactive, data-driven approach to guide decisions on safety, maintenance, and budgeting, ensuring long-term operational resilience and effective asset management. The assessment rated the facility as "fair" (3 out of 5) and identified critical backlog issues, including water ingress, electrical hazards, and fire safety risks. Identifying such issues was critical, to help with an informed approach to prevent system failures, costly emergency repairs, and potential compliance penalties. Kurumeng created a prioritized maintenance program that enabled the school to focus on high-risk issues first. Additionally, the project established a business case for investing on the digital data collection capability to enable smooth adoption of prescriptive maintenance practices in the future.
